„Participating in the Africamp Young Leaders program has been a transformative experience. Over the past week, we immersed ourselves in hands-on training, gaining invaluable skills in organizing camps, nurturing young minds, and creating safe, engaging environments for children. From insightful sessions on communication and conflict resolution to unforgettable moments during game nights and outdoor trips, every part of the camp helped us grow both personally and as leaders. We are leaving this program not only equipped to make a difference in our communities but also inspired to lead with empathy, resilience, and creativity. A huge thank you to the Assalam Community Foundation for creating this incredible opportunity and to everyone who made it so memorable”

"Taking care of children at camp was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Being a camp counsellor taught me so much about patience, adaptability, and the joy that comes from seeing children grow and enjoy new experiences. Each day at camp brought new adventures, I learned the importance of being a steady and positive presence. One of the most memorable parts was during the games and evening activities, also and the time that the children were involved in the games. The excitement on their faces after trying something new and succeeding was priceless. Of course, camp wasn't without its challenges. Managing group dynamics and ensuring everyone followed the rules was sometimes tricky, but it taught me a lot about leadership and communication. By the end of the camp, I felt a strong bond with each camper, and it was hard to say goodbye. In the end, my time as a camp counsellor was about more than supervising activities; it was about making an impact, building connections, and creating memories that I’ll cherish forever. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have played a role in these training experiences and to have learned so much along the way."
